Leh Ladakh Backpacking Event Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive at Leh and half day sightseeing

After landing at your Leh in afternoon, you will be transferred to your hotel and you will get half of a day to get yourself adjusted to such a high altitude climate. Later, in the evening head yourself over to nearby attractions such as Leh market & Shanti stupa. Dinner & overnight stay in Leh.

 

Day 2 : Sightseeing near Leh

After breakfast, full day excursion to Leh. We will start from Sangam, i.e. a view of the confluence of Zan skar River & Indus River. Later visit Magnetic Hill & Pathar Sahib Gurudwara. Now visit Spituk Monastery & later Hall of Fame. Arrive at your hotel in evening. Dinner & overnight stay in Leh.

 

Day 3 : Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla

After breakfast, head towards Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World at 18,3 80 feet). After spending some time at Khardung La Cafe (World's Highest Cafe), proceed towards Diskit Monastery around 1 pm. Around 2:30 pm check-in at your hotel & freshenup. Later 3:30 pm head towards Sand Dunes for AT V Ride / Camel Safari. Evening back to your hotel. Dinner & overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

 

Day 4 : Turtuk village

After breakfast, full day excursion to Turtuk. Turtuk is a small village located in Nubra Valley region of Ladakh, on the banks of Shyok River. It is the northernmost villages in India lying very close to the India Pakistan bor der, in the Baltistan region. Turtuk is an unexplored and offbeat place, opened to tourists only in 2010. Taste the vari ety of fruits Turtuk is known for, specially apricots. Return back to hotel in evening. Dinner & overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

 

Day 5 : Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake

After breakfast, we will start the day following the same route towards Leh till we reach Khalsar. Drive fu rther to Pangong Lake one of the largest and most beautiful natural brackish lakes in the Himalayas. Situated at 1400 0 ft, more than half of the lake is within Chinese Territory and only one third part lies in India. Visit 3 Idiots Movie Shooting Point. Dinner & overnight stay in Pangong.

 

Day 6 : Pangong Lake to Leh

After breakfast, we will visit one of the most beautiful Gompa in Leh i.e Thiksey Monastery. Now we will visit Rancho School (3 Idiots Movie). Later drive straight to Leh. Arrive at your hotel in evening. Dinner & overnig ht stay at Leh.

 

Day 7 : Departure

After breakfast, check-out & head towards Leh Airport. Board your flight with happy memories of Leh La dakh Trip.

    A daily water intake of 4 to 5 liters is recommended.

    Avoid wearing wet clothes.

    Avoid sleeping during the day and do some activity or take a walk around the city.

    Avoid smoking and drinking.

    Intake of proteins and lots of carbohydrates

    Diamox medicine (2 mg) to prevent AMS—please speak with your doctor about dosage. It has to start weeks before the trip begins.

    The best medicine to avoid AMS is to drink lots of water and keep hydrated for better acclimatization. 

    If you suffer from AMS, the solution is to descend straight toward a lower altitude.

     

     What are things to carry on a Leh Ladakh tour?
