Kedarnath is located at a distance of 223 km from Rishikesh in Uttarakhand and close to the source of the Mandakini River at the height of 3,583 m (11,755 ft) above sea level. Kedarnath is a town in Rudraprayag district in the state of Uttarakhand in India and has gained importance because of the Kedarnath Temple. It is approximately 86 kilometres from Rudraprayag, the district headquarter. It is a Nagar panchayat in the Rudraprayag district. Kedarnath is a small town flanked by snow-capped peaks, most prominently the Kedarnath Mountain that gets covered with snowfall during winters but melts by April. The green meadow Deoli lies on its southern side while Gaurikund can be visited to get an initial glimpse of the Himalayan terrain. The source of the Mandakini River lies just 10 kilometres away and is accessible via trekking alongside Chandraganth Lake and Manchhganga Glacier. Kumaradhara & Kalpeshwar are two beautiful trekking spots near Kedarnath Temple with hot water springs flowing out of snow over many rocks creating lush green valley around it and natural heart shaped ponds nearby it creating a mesmerising view!!

Itinerary Of Kedarnath Tour

Day 01 : Haridwar / Dehradun/ Rishikesh – Guptkashi / Phata (approx. 450 kms / 10 hrs DRIVE)

Meet our assistance with transport on arrival and Leave for your next destination, Guptkashi . On reaching, check-in to the hotel. Guptkashi is located at a distance of 47 km from the holy shrine, Kedarnath. The town holds immense religious importance as it houses famous ancient temples like Vishwanath Temple and Ardhnareshwar Temple. Have your dinner and stay overnight in the hotel/camp.

 

Day 02 : Guptkashi/Phata –Kedarnath (approx. DRIVE +19 km TREK)

Early morning after breakfast drive to Sonprayag. From where, you will start your 20 km trek to Kedarnath. You can hire a Doli or a horse, for your trek (Cost Not Included) or you can book helicopter tickets (cost for both ways ticket comes around 9,500 rupees which is not included). Mandakini, one of the main tributaries of the Ganges originates at Kedarnath and flows through Gaurikund. "Jai Bholenath" chants echoes in the mountains. The mists envelop the mountains and slowly lift away. When you can view the picturesque beauty you are left mesmerized.Overnight in Kedarnath.

 

Day 03 : Kedarnath- Guptkashi / Phata  (approx. DRIVE +19 km TREK) 

In the morning you'll start the return trek of 20 km from Kedarnath to Sonprayag. The vehicles wait for you in Sonprayag Car Parking and you’ll drive to your hotel (Guptkashi/Rudraprag). Dinner and Overnight at Guptkashi/ Rudraprayag

 

Day 04 :  Phata –Rishikesh- Haridawar/ Dehradun (516kms/8hrs )

Early morning, after breakfast, you drive downhill to Haridwar via Rishikesh a spiritual city and the Yoga capital of the world. On reaching Rishikesh, go out for sightseeing. Visit Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula. Evening drive back to Haridwar. Drop you at here.

1) Weather Conditions:

Your journey shall involve trekking across high mountains, facing strong cold winds. You must carry :-

  •  Adequate woolen clothing;
  •  A small umbrella;
  • Winchester;
  • Raincoat;
  • Waterproof trekking shoes;
  •  Torch
  •  Walking stick;
  •  Cap (preferably a monkey cap;
  •  Gloves;
  •  Jacket;
  •  Woolen socks;
  • Trousers (preferably a waterproof pair). These items are essential as the climate is highly unpredictable and changes abruptly from sunny weather to rain and snow. The temperature can sometimes abruptly fall to 5 degree Celsius or lower.

 

2) Id proofs

Government issued identity proofs need to be shown at the hotel or resort before check-in. Always keep the Id proof with yourself while travelling. Keep a digital copy of your documents in your mobile devices in case of loss or emergency. (Pan card won’t be acceptable)

 

3) Safety Tips

1) Maintain distance with tourist guides, bus conductors, taxi drivers and local guides if you find them pressuring you to take their assistance. Don’t be rude, but decline their offers politely,

2) Do not go out alone during late evenings and night. Always move in groups.

3) Make a note of emergency numbers and details of the hotel where you are put in.

4) Avoid taking eatables offered by the local people in buses, taxis etc.

5) Make sure all your expensive stuffs are kept in safety lockers of your hotel room. Carry just enough money. During your travel, keep your cameras and other devices safely in a bad and check regularly.

6) Maintain a separate pouch to keep liquid cash handy. In case you are carrying more money or withdrew it from ATM, do not expose it in the public place

7) Do not trust strangers.

8) Always ask for authorized tourist guides who have a badge provided by the Indian Government.

 

Cancellation Policy

  • Booking amount is non-refundable (Rs. 5000)
  • Cancellations done 30 days prior to date of departure - No cancellation charge (booking amount not refundable)
  • Cancellations done 29 - 15 days prior to date of departure 30% of the total trip cost would be charged as cancellation fees
  • Cancellations done 14 - 7 days prior to date of departure 50% of the total trip cost would be charged as cancellation fees
  • Cancellations done 7-1 days prior to date of departure 75% of the total trip cost would be charged as cancellation fees
  • You are not applicable for a refund if you fail to show up on the day of departure under the given timeline that has been provided to you beforehand.

  • There would be no refund provided in case there occur some problems due to government orders, harsh weather conditions, protests, landslides, or any other unforeseen circumstances. On the occasion of any such happenings, we have a backup plan ready most of the time and we'll be moving onto that. There are times when we would have to cancel some activities mentioned in the itinerary but it's only due to the reason that we would be bound by a circumstance that is not in our control
  • Treks and Trails will not bear any extra expense due to any natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, etc.)
  • Cancellations policy differs for popular destinations and also during peak season, kindly confirm with your operator once
  • All extras are to be paid directly to the hotels/the service providers.
  • Please stick to itinerary, anything extra shall be chargeable (at the location itself.)
  • Any service unused is non-refundable.
  • The company shall not be liable for damages/charges incurred by travelers if any of the following reasons apply:
  1. Natural disaster, war, civil unrest, and alteration or cancellation of tour itinerary due to such causes.
  2. Accidents during transportation or accommodations, damage by fire.
  3. Orders of either Indian governments or immigration regulations, isolation resulting from infectious diseases, and tour itinerary alteration or cancellation owing to such causes.
